Government money should always be transparent for the taxpayer.. just like politicians need to wear NASCAR jackets with who their special interests are so we know who we are ACTUALLY dealing with.

Anyone for LESS transparency definitely has something to hide and should be audited and investigated.

I see some democrats were sensible enough to vote for it.

Identify the four RINOs who voted in favor of DC Swamp establishment business as usual and force them out of the GOP.

The illusion is democrat versus republican. The reality is it’s us versus them.

Maybe we are finally heading in the right direction. As a life long Democrat, I’m appalled by what my party has come to stand for. As an American, with great pride in this country, as much as it pains me, I can never again vote Democrat.

Odd that democrats would want more secretive spending. Actually, it's not odd at all

Just imagine the democrats who were claiming we'd have the most transparent administration opposing a bill that promotes transparency in government spending. Isn't that a kick in the groin America.

I’m surprised 59 Democrats voted yea. Good for them on that one

I can’t wait to see what republicans voted no on this bill and also the ones who didn’t vote at all.

Some serious doublespeak there, since this does little if any to increase transparency of government spending.

Wow Forbes, great video 🫤 … Vague title, and no audio or description of what the bill does within the video itself? Come on be a little less lazy guys! Cutting a clip from C-SPAN is not journalism

"when the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic, " and “A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the majority discovers it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury. After that, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits with the result the democracy collapses because of the loose fiscal policy ensuing, always to be followed by a dictatorship, then a monarchy." It's not certain who said those statements, but they sure ring true and sad that most DemocRats are against this transparency.

Just so everyone realizes that this isn't really exciting, even tho it's called what it is, this bill won't really do much at all but waste money coming up with the estimate for every executive order that qualifies. I think they're just doing it so they can say they supported at least one bill that seemed anti-inflation on the cover, and point the finger at every executive order because they all cost money initially. If they really wanted to fight inflation, they would have supported the Inflation Reduction Act, which was aimed at re-balancing taxes so that regular, everyday people aren't footing as much of the bill and 'big business' would pay more of what they're supposed to but aren't.
