Also if you are building your own switches you should look at the sonoff.. it's like $7 and it's basically an ESP with a relay and all the associated parts... Runs off mains, switches mains and it comes in a nice case... I just found out about these and I am waiting for mine to play with..

it looks like your setting up a "mesh" network. I would like to do the same using "Luma" mesh router and access points. Will they work for a home network like this? What are the limitations of Luma vs. what your using?

It's a router used as an AP, you should invest in POE APs

Why people cover their MAC's and their SSID/WPA on YouTube?

1- you shouldn't be using factory values for SSID/WPA from the beginning (so why cover it?)
2-MAC's are layer 2... (can't be leaked to Internet they belong to your private network only)

god mode for me (i'm very easily pleased) would be the ability to see my room temp and being able to turn on my heating or a fan from my phone in bed, so i guess an esp8266 with a temp sensor and 2 relays, i have no hub.router.internet/other wifi, it would be just a direct connection from this impossible device to my

subbed.
