I don’t know what I was more nervous about 🧐 Going on my first solo flight or signing off my first student for their solo flight! Both require a tremendous amount of trust between student and instructor. When the bird leaves the nest it’s terrifying at first, but you have to have trust in yourself and your judgement that your student is ready. Pre-solo requirements exist for a reason! Speaking of which, here are the pre-solo requirements as per 14CFR61.87 summed up: 1. Pass a written knowledge test
2. Pre-solo flight maneuevers with CFI
3. Written Endorsement for make/model on student pilot certificate(never expires) & in logbook(90days)
4. For Robinson Helicopters: SFAR 73 Endorsement
5. CFI can add any limitations on endorsement as they see fit! Ie wind limitations etc...
