Placing Images In Figure Environments In LaTeX

In this video, we learn how to place images in figure environments. To do so we need to use the graphicx package. Once we place our figure, we write a caption and label the figure. The label can then be referred to.

Labels and references can also be used in other parts of our LaTeX document, such as equations. In the video we cover the hyperref and variorum packages.

In regards to the figure options [htbp] my understanding is the is order that LaTeX will decide to put the 'floats'. Here-top-bottom-page and if we only give it a single option e.g. [h] then it will put it there. I found that LaTeX is pretty smart about where the floats should go and have typically not messed with until perhaps the very end the document is in its final stages.
Thanks for sharing a nice video. There are not enough LaTeX demos out there.
