Newton's 2nd Law (13 of 21) Calculate Acceleration with Friction; Inclined Plane, Pulley, Two Masses

preview_player
Показать описание
Shows you how to calculate the acceleration and tension in the string of a two block system on an inclined plane with friction. The acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force applied to the object and inversely proportional to the mass of the object. The second law can also be stated in terms of an object's changing momentum, such that the rate of change of momentum of an object is directly proportional to the net force applied and the change in momentum is in the direction of the net force.

Thank you so much! You got me through physics 1 and 2 at Cornell, as well as the MCAT :) you are the best

My physic's exam is tomorrow! This was exactly the type of problem that will be on the exam. When I first clicked this video I was so frustrated at the fact that I didn't know how to set up the forces applied onto the incline or how to brake it down into its' X and Y components. SO if anybody here is struggling with same issue. I RECOMMEND watching "calculating Acceleration with OUT friction (ONE MASS) then working your way to this video. THNAK-YOU. Simple and easy.

You are on a whole another level with your explanations, breaking each components of the problem into pieces that fits perfectly and leads to the solution. I am so thankful to you for all your hard work and energy you put into these videos. Thank you kindly - you are a godsend!!!

This semester has started off on a rough note. Your video helped see the problems more carefully and in a less complex/hectic manner. Thank you!

Best video. I learned the things that I couldn’t learn by my entire year & ended up with failure 😞.
I totally lost my confidence about physics, but after watching the video from you & I imagined and got everything easily and found my confidence again.

Thank you so much. I’m so grateful not only for learning, but also for getting back my confidence.

I subscribed after watching my very first video.

Lovely explanation. Well paced and easy to follow with workings shown without repetition. Many thanks from someone who has not studied physics for many years

I like the way you broke each component down.
my physics prof didn't teach me that way. I found this video very helpful. Thanks again.

Step-by-Step Science good day
I have the same problem, but the next question, the hanging block is submerged in water, calculate the new tension and acceleration? Please help. I’m not given the density or volume of the second block, only the mass. The block on the incline volume is 8cm^3.

Masses m1 and m2 are connected to a string passing over a pulley as shown in above diagram . Mass m1 starts from rest an falls through a distance d in time t .. Now by inter changing the masses the time required for m2 to fall through the same distance is 2t, therefore, the ratio of masses m1:m2 is?? angle =30°

Plz answer this problem

Thank you so much for explaining this in an easy to understand way.

btw you explain 1000 times better than my actual physics teacher
