How much did your battery last until charging?
I have the VG version, and i did hear about the problem jbl has with an old and new models, the old model has a 1 hour draining battery, and they fixed the new model

Really though, when I first saw those microphones, I thought they were some rebranded cheap Chinese junk. I was very surprised at how solid they feel, not like a toy at all. I wonder if they were concerned with feedback when they picked that cartridge pattern. Remember, you brought your own mic to the game with the W-King. That kinda makes it hard to fault the speaker itself for the microphone when you say the W-King was a better karaoke platform.

Actually wait a second... You can't use your own mics with the Encore so ok yeah. You have a point.

A mic story: I saw Wendy O Williams bash a drunk fan over the head with a mic once, and she hit him so hard that the mic came apart. He was standing by the stage watching the Plasmatics and when she turned her back he grabbed her ass. WHAM! Down he went. The band didn't miss a beat though. I think it was a Shure SM58, which is a very sturdy piece of gear.
