People always tell me they "don't have time to read" when what they really mean is they use their down time for other hobbies, hanging out with friends, or watching TV. And all of that is valid! But they feel the need to aggressively shit on reading because they see it as doing nothing.

😂 I feel like reading books never feels like a good enough hobby to people who are more casual readers if at all. Like there's always this sort of pause after I tell people I like to read a lot lol. I watch people buffer in real time.

I’ve had some people ask me why I read SFF and I tell them for escapism and their response is that they can’t read fiction because they won’t learn anything so it has to be non fiction!!

Technically I haven't read much since high school if audio books don't count. With three jobs and a business, there's just no time unless it's while I'm in transit lol.

i finished high school 2 years ago and in that time iv read more then i did in my whole life before finishing school. im dyslexic so discovering kindle had a dyslexia fount was a game changer

Bet they also binge every TV show to exist. Nothing wrong with TV. But I prefer not to have my imagination spoon fed to me lol
