Damn people are creating the metaverse in websites while I still can't center a div inside another div without searching it for the millionth time.

Reminds me the story of a marketing manager who killed a series of ads that everyone loved. And his point was: everybody loved these ads, but nobody bought the product.

These websites feel pretty much the same way: They looks amazing, the animation is crazy complicated, but I would hate being an user trying to get something done or finding a piece of information on these websites.

Loved the last one. First one - not so much. Creativity is no good without thinking of usability. Users should be able to focus on the text when they're trying to read something.

I feel some of this websites are kind of too much. I get that some of these developers make one of these 3D personal website/cv for testing and showing off skills purposes. But they don't seem functional at all tbh, too distracting and takes too long to go through the website.
Still cool for other things tho

7:00 My guess is this is a particle system that is sampling from a texture which sources an HTML webpage converted to a canvas.

As someone who also speaks French, honestly it's no surprise a lot of the insane 3d artistic web projects are often French. The French really don't play around with Arts, cuisine, and also fragrances.

on the final website, there is Japanese text, one says good, another says ramen (I'm sure he put that there to further emphasize the ramen theme ), and one that says Ramune which is a delicious drink, so, yeah there are just that many details in these webpages.

as an experienced webgl/threejs dev, #2 > #3 in my opinion! (#3 still cool too)

The ramen shop reminds me of 3D models I see Polygon Runway make.

When WebGPU and WebTransport hits mainstream, that's when the world of browsers will change.
