The magnet falls in slow-motion? No! It’s #physics! #DrTatiana #shorts

A copper plate is not magnetic, yet it slows down a heavy magnet falling on it. The reason? Lenz's law! As the magnet approaches, an increasing magnetic flux through the copper plate generates eddy currents in it which create a force opposing the fall. Science is so amazing!

I love this level of enthusiasm she has and yes I am learning new stuff in my mid30s.

These kinds of professors are truly special - I'm doing my STEM biology degree, and very few of my professors can hold a candle to this

ARE YOU IMPRESSED? no.

hahaha she's so precious

I love how she doesn’t just teach what something is, but shows how it works. If I had been in classes like this, I would have for sure paid more attention. These are the STEM professors we need to see everywhere!

Dr. Tatiana is the physics teacher we all needed in our high school :)

In German Lenz's Law is called: Das Magnetfeld wirkt der Urschae seiner Entstehung immer entgegen.
Or in Englisch translated: The magntic field always counteracts the primordial chaos of its creation😮

With all respect to all my university teachers, I wish I had Dr. Tatiana Erukhimova as my physics teacher! Just her energy and her passion is enough to keep any student motivated no matter how difficult the topic might be.

These are the types of teachers that we need in all our schools!!! She actually teaches the students and makes learning interesting and fun, this lady needs a raise immediately!!!😊😊😊

If we had more teachers like this we would have a lot more scientists

I could watch her explain things all day

If my engineering professors were this enthusiastic and explained things as well as this lady, I would have continued studying engineering; instead of transferring to archaeology and anthropology! Fantastic demonstration, thank you.

You make physics so interesting, unlike my boring professors who made me develop a resistance to physics 😅

What I love is how counter intuitive it is if you didn’t know Lenz’s Law and haven’t seen a demo before. Thank you for sharing this!!! (:

She should read for an audiobook. I would definitely listen to that. LOVE the way she says FORCE, CURRANT and COPPER PLATE!😅

Changing flux generates EMF (electromotive force ) then this force creates an induced current called Eddy current thus this current produces its own magnetic field which opposes the initial flux
And that was Len's law..❤

I really wish I had professors like this when I was in school I would have actually enjoyed science and would have loved to take chemistry

She has a way of explaining things so that when she asks "are you impressed?" I am like "yes" even if she thinks we shouldn't be
