I read a book several years ago called Atlantis In America : Navigators Of The Ancient World by Ivar Zapp and George Erickson. Copyright 1998. They present evidence regarding the stone spheres in Costa Rica and world wide, in reference to ancient navigational markers. Not sure if you’ve seen or read this book. I once had the thought that these stones being part of huge wheels or something like how there's ball bering in wheels for skateboards and such now and days . Maybe these used for the same purpose but on a huge scale for somthing? Even just as ways to move slabs of stone like they used wood to roll under slabs to move them easier. Just an idea I had. I do like the idea of them being energy magnifying or lay line manipulation

I think that they stated that they were actually ballast stones from the airships that the previous high civilization had used. The same that the Nazca lines were made for.
That would make Easter Island having one make more sense but I don't know. The thread contained many fascinating answers to these kind of mysteries but hard to say it is all straight truth.
