I love that the episode prior to this one, the group is forced to confront how evil they are becoming because of their treatment of Todd, then they are immediately confronted by a literal crossroads between timelines based on the direction they have been going. The "real" study group pulled out if it and became "good" again in the "main" timeline, but we still get to see how the "evil" group turned out!

I'm hoping the premise of the movie is trying to restore the rightful timeline and get troy back to the group which in reality was the darkest timeline when he left.
