I do not care about sales, I care about performance and longevity.

GE and Whirlpool are very well made products that North American technicians can service, and parts are readily available. Not so with the Korean and other offshore brands. Biggest thing to remember with front loaders is to LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN after doing a 5 years on and our Whirlpool front loader is like new. Absolutely no mold issues whatsoever.

I have the GE washer, purchased July 2020. The motor failed about 2 years in. The washer won't spin the clothes and need to re-spin the clothes a second and even a third time, and this is regardless of the amount of clothes in the washer. I'm reluctant to get another GE, but I like the auto dispense feature and microban seal on this machine. We built a new laundry room and need to put the washer on the right side of the dryer, so need a reversible door on a new washer.

The amount of positive reviews for Electrolux are astounding!

I bought a basic, no frills LG front loader after my 30 y.o. Maytag finally died. It cleans better, is quiet, uses less water and is easier on clothes. If it only lasts 1/3 of the Maytag’s lifespan, that’s ok since the LG cost was prob 1/3 what the Maytag costed my parents back in the day, adjusted for inflation.

BEWARE OF GE! My brand new GE front load washer (this same model but smaller capacity) stopped working within 4 DAYS of being delivered in July 2022. I've been waiting for 18 days for GE to tell me what they are going to do about it. Their customer service have been an absolute nightmare.

Here’s a useful fact for those searching for a new front load washer:

At a college apartment complex that I recently lived at, which housed around 1, 000 students, they replaced the Samsung front load washers which were purchased in 2015 with Electrolux washers. I noticed before the mass replacement that many of the Samsung machines were left out by the dumpsters, meaning they were all starting to break in a manner that meant they were beyond reasonable repairs.

What you could take from this is that the apartment complex had realized they made a mistake in purchasing Samsung machines, as they were all consistently faulty(or at least most). They didn’t last 7 years, while other apartment complexes had much older machines. They probably had insider knowledge through some gained experience that Electrolux while not as popular a brand, is more reliable than Samsung.

In the past 5 years, I have bought two front-loading washing machines in China. The price of each is around 1500 CNY, which is about 230 US dollars each. One is Sanyo and the other is Hisense, both of which have a capacity of 8KG.

My front load GE lasted only 22 months before I had to have a $565 repair. The main circuit board burned up

I just bought the ge because of the vent system. We leave the door open to dry on our current Samsung but if the door accidentally closes during the night we wake up to condensate in the drum and a mildew smell almost immediately. I’m done with the mildew and am very excited to get out ge delivered

On the GE it has a small door panel beneathe the door on the washer that looks to be a drain plug of sorts. What is this for and how is it used and maintained?

Midea is a massive brand, my heat pump hot water system is a Midea and costs no more than a small fridge to run.

The smooth talk of salesmen means nothing if it breaks in under 10 years. Consumers are looking DIRECTLY at whose engaging in planned obsolescence or not we don't need machines operated by a cell phone, we need machines that clean/dry and do so for more than a decade bare minimum.

LG Tromm
Nothing but problems, broken pump on delivery, door has leaked off an on and Im on the second tub bearing, which must have a design flaw, a pain to replace due to taking so much of it apart.

Thank you so much! My son just bought a house and I’m trying to help him shop. Learned so much with this video. I’m not sure about front loaders if you need to keep the door open to air out. Seems like it could be hazardous to cats and toddlers.
