Gobekli Tepe: Is This Ancient Aliens?

I am enjoying this series so far but I really enjoyed The Why Files coverage of the topic a lot more. They don't try to make a case that ancient aliens had anything to do with the site, but the people who inspired the builders of Gobekli Tepe were of an advanced earth-bound civilization (Atlantis, Lemuria, and Mu) that we know very little about because their continents were destroyed in a huge cataclysm/flood caused by a meteorite or comet striking earth radiating from a specific constellation.
The theory goes, a few survivors who knew doom was imminent, escaped their islands and travelled on ships to mainland areas where they encountered prehistoric humans and gave them advanced knowledge of astronomy and other sciences. These ancients told the native people what happened to their civilization, and they depicted it in a cryptic (but highly meaningful) way on the stone pillars as a memorial and a warning to future generations, that this event will most likely happen again.
Researchers fed likenesses of the images carved onto pillar 42 (known as the vulture stone) into a computer to determine if they might be linked with constellations. Doing so revealed associations between characters on the pillar and astronomical symbols in the sky for the year 10, 950 BC. The fact that the people took the time and considerable effort to create the characters on the pillar suggests something very important must have happened during the same time period that the Greenland ice core suggests a comet struck, approximately 10, 890BC.
Long story short, aliens don't have to play a part in this at all. All you have to do is accept that the Earth is not 6000 years old and that the early chapters of the book of Genesis are allegorical. It's not that difficult to make sense of.

Ancient Aliens is good for several reasons, one above most others is the fact that they are willing to present geographic locations and events documented in history that have never really been explained and no clear answer has ever been arrived upon. I find that many times that sort of information is withheld.

During the middle ages people built cathedrals and embellished them with saintly and demonic figures, gargoyles and other sorts of strange creatures we would have no way of easily explaining, fortunately we have an idea why they did that. I don't think that people before us lacked for imagination and I am sure their creative minds found ways of embellishing their interpretations of the world around them and the universe.

Ancient Aliens offers some pretty outlandish possibilities for some of histories great mysteries, but in my opinion, no more outlandish than the ones I learned in grade school and high school. The idea that all living creatures evolved from a germ or a single cell. That is suppose to explain how we got life in all it variations on earth.

There's one word in Isaiah 51: 16 where translations make a curious difference. Plant the heavens vs. Establish the heavens. I heard a pastor talk about how mankind is destined to do the planting on other planets using that verse from the NKJV
