Flat Iron Steak - The Swiss Army Knife of Steaks

Flat iron is a good cut of meat. I love making it on the grill and in a cast iron skillet. Kind of steak I don't mind serving to friends. If they're too good for the flat iron, I don't need them for friends.

I made these last night and they were so tender and delicious! I LOVE Crowd Cow not only for the variety and quality of meats on offer but mostly for their investment in family farmers/ranchers who raise the animals in their care humanely, including the slaughtering which is not done industrially but locally. Flatiron is still $7.99/lb where I'm at right now. Eye of round is, get this...$17.99/lb! Chicken thigh costs more than chicken tenderloins. Ground pork is more than ground beef. Ribs are dirt cheap. Elk is cheaper than beef right now. What's going on?

“Swiss army knife of steaks” - love that phrase - just about sums up flat iron. I like mine with Teriyaki sauce but everyone to their own. Love the way you keep your video short - who needs to hear someone prattling on for 30 - 45 mins. 👍 For those of you in UK the larger Morrisons sell flat iron ( much cheaper than other decent cuts ).

Lol I get them often in grocery stores in Maryland, they are so good they don’t need much help, the natural flavor is wonderful
No steak sauce or marinade needed

Try using baking spray oil and ghee for searing the steak. Ghee prevents the crust from sticking to the pan the result is a thicker almost crispy crust.
