Sony ICF-2010 Lost Memories And Clock And Display Problem

Here is a tip that may be of help to some if your Sony lost the memory channels and clock and display is not working.

I bought this radio right before Desert Storm. It's a great radio. After the war I didn't use it too much so I removed the all the batteries, put the radio back in its box, placed it in a plastic storage box and shoved it under my bed. It's been there for years. You've stimulated my interest again. I'll have to pull it out and try it. I just wonder if there are any stations left to listen to. Thanks.

Great tip. Being Duracell and having been in the radio for so long I’m surprised the batteries didn’t leak and corrode. I’ve had Duracell in higher drain items that did that. I now inspect the batteries more often because of that. 73

Hey Larry! Nice looking SW receiver. I don't have any Sony equipment but have several Sangean SW portables that I like for the most part. One thing that bugs me however is the auto timer on the lighted display. No way to keep the display lighted on either battery or line power.

Thank you, but it is in the manual isnt it. This were very common in radios etc. in the 80s until eeproms got common.
