Interesting! Your comments about earnings beating inflation got me thinking, what if instead of looking at overall inflation, what if we target sectors with the highest inflation? For example, car insurance is way up — maybe that makes GEICO or similar companies worth a look since their benchmark is higher and would be more likely to outperform overall inflation
