1.Shortest, broadest, most curved rib when compared with typical rib
2. Shaft - flat and straight not twisted
3. Flatened from above downward
4. No costal groove
Surface - superior
- Inferior
Border - inner border
- outer border
Side determination
* Anterior end - large, pitted
* Posterior end - small, rounded
*Outer border - convex, no groove
* Superior surface - 2 shallow grooves & ridge inbetween, scalene tubercle in inner border
