If morality is grounded in x, then if x were different, then morality were different. This is true no matter what your stance on the grounding of morality is.

I'm not sure what people are missing here, but Harris' emotional argument that "tribalism is a result of religion, and therefor religion is bad, " isn't very good. It's also easily refuted by pointing out that every community of people seems to make the friend enemy distinction and act on it. This appears to be a feature of the human condition, rather than a product of religious belief.

The new atheist arguments against religion were never very good. They are like the McDonald's happy meal version of atheist arguments, best consumed by midwits looking for "edgy" arguments to trigger their grandma with. You would be better off reading Nietzsche, than Harris.

1:40 Nazis didn't perform horrendous acts "in the name of atheism". It was pure racial prejudice.

0:10 anyone wondered whether that was a still picture of Craig?

2:21 “Allah” means God in Arabic. In the Arabic translation of Bible or in Arab churches they all use the word “Allah”

He says that how can sane people believe in insane things while he believes this universe was formed on accident without any divine influence. The probability of the big bang ever coming even close to creating some sort of life is equivalent to a dice being rolled on a 6, 70 times

You missed some words in your title. You mean WLC Attempts, and fails, to refute atheist Sam Harris.

Because he did fail. Hilariously so.

2:20 I really like how Craig so confidently affirms that Allah doesn’t exist despite having no evidence that he doesn’t, and also no evidence that his own god exist outside of a faith-based claim.

If you really think Bill here refuted Sam Harris, you're just not being honest with yourself. Kind of a running theme with these "refutations" Cameron. The other running theme being, Bill is an even more terrible apologist than I could have ever believed.

It's been awhile since I've seen the debate with Harris and Craig, but if I remember correctly, most of Harris's points were not in response to the points that Craig made, meaning it seems like Harris was just arguing with himself in that debate.

Um, why doesn't Craig engage with Harris' objection?

Craig comes across as really intelligent, genuine and charitable when talking with atheists, or people he might disagree with.
But in clips like this, where he’s preaching to the converted, he seems to knowingly make terrible points! Just saying “well you can’t do it either” doesn’t answer Harris’ criticism, it’s a tu quo que fallacy.

But Sam Harris is a hard determinist who says free will doesn't exist. So I would like him to explain how is moral agency possible on a view which states that we are not in control of ourselves due to an uninterrupted line of causal events effectively causing us to do, think and even feel all we are doing, thinking and feeling?
