Your hair looks beautiful. Now that you’re color treated you will need to do more protein treatments and lots of moisture. Love the look and enjoying the length.

Part 4: I didn’t do so personally, but applying a little oil to your wet hair before you comb in the gel would probably help. My hair, once dry, would be pretty hard and a little helmet-like. By the end of the day, it might even crack a little. But I could fix it with my fingers because it would NOT lift once dry so, no one could tell. It still looked bomb and would lay flat all day, even in back where it was super short.

Part 1: Chile . . . When I used to wear my “finger” waves, I never used a brush (or mousse, or wrapping foam). I used a medium-tooth comb and gel. Pro-Style, to be specific. The brown, regular hold, not the super hold. I wrapped my hair in cotton bandanas, usually more than one to get complete coverage. The cotton would sort of adhere to the hair better than a doo-rag or satin scarf, and you can make (tie) them more snuggly than you can those paper wrap strips.
