I've got some really nice high end audio equipment....and some cheap stuff as well... I love it all....There's so many variables to discuss. I think it starts with room space and privacy....then go from there...You can just listen to music with headphones only...or do you want to feel and shake the house? Freedom is the space between your ears... I have many different amps and preamps..TT's and all serve a purpose...and I like them all. It's like I have at least 20 guitars....all of them serve a purpose. So from day to day...do I want to listen to CD's, or Vinyl? Do I want to play a Martin acoustic...a Taylor...or a Fender Strat or a Les Paul. I can be happy with a transistor radio....and I am...When you have the things you really want...you realize you really don't need them....Enjoy and share your music my friends...Enjoy the music...

My comment in this video applies to all of your videos in which it is specifically about YOU. I have been binge watching your content and I can sum all of it up with one Thank you for your channel.

Thank you for covering this topic. The Hi-Fi world gets pretty snippy sometimes as you know and opinions can be held as facts by many. I try to keep one thing in mind (in all areas). For me to judge your opinion of anything in a subjective area, I have to not only experience every single thing that you have, throughout your life, but also have to have experienced the emotion you have from every one of those experiences.
That keeps me grounded and keeps my own opinion in focus while allowing me to fully respect yours, even if it's different. Sometimes once someone has explained their experience and their feelings from them, then the opinion they hold, and why, make so much sense.
Thanks again. Sorry that had to happen for you to touch on this subject, but it's a badly needed reminder in our community.

Andrew you are coming through loud and clear, I have been following you since your Emotiva days and you have always been kind and respectful to others. The biggest thing is to respect others as you would like others to respect you.

Think first before responding and don’t go out of your way to be rude or vile. Unfortunately the internet is breeding this vile nature and some people who have underline issues feel the need because they are unhappy, they feel the need to make others unhappy. Positive people breed positive conversations and negative people gravitate towards negative conversations and really feed off of them.

We all are entitled to our opinions and if you feel the need to say something that might hurt someone else imagine that your parent, kid or boss is watching you because in essence if you were to ever do something really criminal or controversial all of your social media pages and post could be made public. This is just audio guys and girls that’s it we must stop rapping up our personal identity with products that we buy and quit feeling personally offended when others think differently or don’t like your product, they are not saying that they don’t like you directly. We should all welcome differences because through welcoming those differences we expand our knowledge.

Being on Andrew channel is a privilege, not a right and he is pretty open in terms of views and prospective. Almost all of us want to say things to move the discussion forward and to learn from others. Let’s keep it civil and have fun. Happy holidays Andrew and everyone on this channel.

Your video reminded me of this statement I came across on Twitter : "Anger is the punishment we inflict upon ourselves because of someone else's behaviour."

Bro you’re one of the dopest individuals on YouTube. I like listening to movie soundtracks and scores on my phone so I wanted to get into buying my first decent turntable. First thing I noticed once I started doing my research is how snobby so many people in the “vinyl record” community are. I only watched 2 of your videos and hit the subscribe button. I appreciate your realness and message that you stand for on this channel. By the way I saw your video on the U Turn Plus turntable and decided that’s gonna be my entry level choice. Keep up the good work and keep being yourself!

Amen! Well said, brother. As always... I really wish more people could open their minds and truly appreciate everything you just said. Keep up the great work! 😉👍

I could never understand some people, you know... the kinds of people you are talking about. You have a service that is valuable to a great many viewers. You never come across in a negative way, yet haters just have to hate. Sorry you have to deal with the garbage. Keep doing what you do. You will always have the majority who will appreciate it.

Total truth, Andrew! Sometimes you sounded like Joel Osteen, sometimes like Dr. Phil, but true to being YOU! Maintain your strength and courage throughout 2020 for your Channel(s). I'm in for the Long Haul! Happy New Year to you and Kristi!

This is why I love this channel so much I personally don't have a house I live in an apartment so I built my sound system into my vehicle which is a van and also have a TV in it and a record player a lot of people called me crazy for it but I like what I like and I like to be able to be in my own space and still have room for others without impeding my neighbors

Merry christmas to you and your family !
Audiophilia is a hard condition. Some symptomes can be brutal. The only medecine for me is music and take breaks from everything related to gears.
Speaking to real people helps too. Arguing on comments leads nowhere.
Much needed video

I love everything. I love transparency, I love warm sound, I love big punchy precise bass, I love big horn speakers for specific sound, I love electrostatic speakers for other genres, I love headphones. I love IEM.
And because I love everything, I want experience everything. That's the reason why my collection of headphones is so varied. But I am not going for the highend, because the difference isn't worthy enough for me. I go to hifi shows to listen to the Orpheus or the Abyss. And if I can only really appreciate Abyss in a quiet place...than the difference isn't big enough for me.

Personal audio isn't part of this channel, but persanol audio is a springboard into hifi.
JBL or Bose neckspeakers aren't hifi, but they are great to demonstrate soundstage or soundfield. Fiio produces bluetooth receivers for left-right in ear. So you can make almost any IEM wireless. Even earbuds from Samsung can sound great for the price. With a proper amplifier it can sound better. DACs in smartphones are getting better. And you can always use an usb DAC.

What's curious is why do some people/Youtubers think a DAC matters more than balanced cables or the other way around.

Hey hey there Andrew, from here in Detroit I do want to say I've been a newcomer to your channel. I do want to encourage you to keep on and I appreciate your reviews of the products you ve had because they've been things that are actually attainable, some middle of the road, some even more high end and others maybe paths not travelled enough that many enthusiasts have unanswered questions about but know no one who's tried it out (4example your review on the New crown xls amps) you shed light and gave some solidarity on what I know many ppl have considered. This comes at a time when much highend audio new and even used especially now in this retro trend, maybe out of many a persons reach you've surfaced exposed many in my opinion, to hidden gems that maybe otherwise overlooked or simply disregarded . As a long time audio hobbyists and lover (thanks to my dad R.I.P.) want to tell you to keep keeping on my fellow audio brethren 👍🏾👍🏾💪🏾

Much agreed. Audio wisdom and insights should be shared in encouraging way. Not a belittling way. And respect others opinions different to yours

I see the comments section of your videos as a place to learn and ask questions from people with much more experience than I have. Thus far, i have learned a tremendous amount. Your advice and those who frequent the videos have been extremely helpful to me

I took a few weeks to binge watch a lot of your how-to and advice videos. I must say it's been interesting to see how you've evolved over time. Somewhere along the line you folks found a quality voice for expressing a viewpoint while bringing people along on your happy journey, while admitting it didn't always feel that way. Everything is subjective; opinions are like belly buttons - everyone has one. Still, it's always good to hear other perspectives, and that's how we learn and grow. I must also say that your marketing and business games are tight. Less, more focused content, fab scripting, and quality production. You've become a must-watch for me, and I want to thank you (again) for the tremendous job you do. 🙃

Thank you Andrew. I couldn’t agree more with the values that you express in this video. As a fledgling Hifi YouTuber this is something I have had to grapple with myself. What are my biases and what will be my approach to reviewing gear? I have to hold in mind that I am evaluating gear on its ability to reproduce art.

Science and engineering play an essential role in how.a product performs but there is no guarantee that a well engineered product taking advantage of the latest scientific processes will be liked by everyone. It just tells you that it is a well engineered product taking advantage of the latest scientific processes. Our Hifi set ups and tastes are all different.

Social media has revolutionised the way in which we interact with each other. With the greater reach to be able to interact with anyone, anywhere comes a greater responsibility to be mindful of how we conduct ourselves in those interactions. This is something culturally, globally we are still struggling to come to terms with but I have no doubt that we will get there. Once again, thank you for posting this video. Happy holidays to you and your family.

I love how you don’t force your personal opinions on your viewers, but instead explain why you personally like it. Which is why I would like to see you review different genres of music and explain why “people” are attracted to it. There are some genres I just don’t understand why people like them but I think I just need it explained to me...or do you think it would just worsen the comments?

I like your opinions and observations. People should listen and then, go listen. Surely the hobby is about listening, not being unpleasant.

Thank you Andrew!! I'm so happy I ran across your channel. I fully believe that if you love your music and love the equipment you play your music through, that's enough. You have been a guide for me in finding my next system and for sure you have brought me back to hifi earth just in the nick of time. I've gone from almost buying something that I definitely would have regretted (and probably, knowing me, would have joined the Golden road to unlimited dissatisfaction by looking for the perfect thing) to a more manageable self.
