Who goes first before the court in this case? The Appellant? Because the burden of proof is on them?

Fun.
May I suggest, what might confuse some people (dyslexics) is to show how either a Plaintiff or Defendant in the first phase can be either the Glee or the Can't in the second phase. I 'suspect' this is where the original confusion stems from. Most people (even lawyers, or lawers in training) get a sort of A vs B model, and then assume that gets carried over directly to the next phase. But does not work this way. So perhaps, we see P vs D, and then simply ask, Who won? Stamp with Glee in the next part of the flow chart. See that interaction between phase one and phase two might lock this in. Just a thought.

I am the appellee after a recent Civil victory where I represented myself. I received the appeal letter but there are no instructions on how I respond to the appeal? Not much legal advice online on the matter so what is my next step?
