How is this not one of the eleventy gadillion songs someone loops into a 1-hour version? Since the 90s, I haven't been able to listen to this song just once.

A Warm Place to me is a place where you can go to when you need to feel safe. From sadness, failure, violence, etc. This song reminds me of a time when my father told me "No matter what happens in your life, there is always a place for you to go to. Home. You can always feel safe in your home, no matter what happened or what you did." To me home was "a warm place". My father never had "a warm place". He sacrificed his own warm place to give me a warm place. Nowadays he has a warm place.


I hope everybody has their warm place to go to.

This could go on forever. It has more substance and purpose for my personal need than anything I've attempted to listen to on the radio in years. My all-time favorite song for over 25 years. Its nostalgically depressing basic mood with the slightly uplifting momentum puts me in a state of accepting the banalities of existence together with its suffering: to endure the whole senselessness of being for the sake of being, i.e. to recognize and thus know that no noble goal of any kind is to be achieved, but that for a short period of time the burden of simulated awareness with all its ups and downs is to be lived through.

PLEASE DO A WARM PLACE VOCALS ONLY. There's a legend of there supposedly being vocals to the song (not A Warm Place Illum Tangendo), but a guy can be faintly heard saying repeatedly at the beginning "the best thing about life is knowing you put it together".
