(HD) EVGA X58 Classified NB Cooling Tests & Benchmark

I have received lot's of questions on the X58 Classifieds NB chipset running hot....Here are a few suggestions tested and recommended for great results.

That is true. I don't know the correct term but i like the way the wire is wrapped. More of an aesthetic point than functionality i guess. I looked around on google and newegg and i couldn't find it. I guess it would be easier to just get the waterblock but it seems like the fan made a really good difference for a much lower cost. Well I appreciate your help. Thanks.

water cooling works by having a four part configuration: waterblock, pump, radiator and resovoir. the waterblock is hollow so water can pass through the metal and brings the tempature down to water tempature, then it gos through a pump which moves the water and through a resivvoir which holds the water and finally through a radiator which turns the warmer water into colder water either through passive cooling or fan cooling. it is much more efectve than a passive or fan cooling set up.

You are correct, Unfortunately, there aren't many programs out there that will accurately measure the NB temps. Most reliable to date is the classified Bios, however it is difficult loading the system while in the Bios setup.

id love to see the actually set up in the case, i can imagine it looking pretty mad with the triple gtx285's the 9800gt and the huge nb/sb cooler on it, cant wait to see all the video cards watercooled, will be supreme!

Can i ask though where the temp probe is for the volt regulator (vreg), i guessing its on the mosfets. Also what is that 3rd small chip between the nb & sb?

This video shows either option provides great results over stock, If you want to air cool, there is a very cost effective option....However, should you wish to push this motherboard further for extreme results, there is a very impressive water cooling option...which path you take is entirely up to you and the system you desire...

Yes, but you would need a powerful pump, and depending on how hot your components get a 240mm radiator or larger.
Most watercooling systems can do the NB, CPU, and ram to my knowledge.

That block isn't meant to be available to Monday :P... Awesome, surprised trub hasn't got the VID-NX285 blocks but I suppose they don't fit the 2GB versions of the 285...
