The names of the seven churches are symbolic of the church in different periods of the Christian Era. The number 7 indicates completeness and is symbolic of the fact that the messages extend to the end of time, while the symbols used reveal the condition of the church at different periods in the history of the world.

Thanks again Pastor Bohr for a very good and enlightening introduction to the book of Revelation. Many significant misconceptions were cleared up which should be beneficial to the misinformed, to the skeptical, to those just ignorant of these things. Your summary of the seven churches is very apt.

Especially is what is said of Laodecia pertinent to us. We are living in this time of judgment and shaking, when whatever can be shaken is being shaken. Dear Brethren, let us keep our eyes focused on Jesus through diligent study of His Word, with help from the inspired counsels He's given us; through an active prayer life; and through sharing the gospel with others. Let our lives bear true witness for Jesus in everything we do or say; in how we conduct our lives in every detail. Lord, please help us!
