You sir might be an IM but by all means you are 10x as good as a chess tutor than almost every super GM out there....cheers 🥂❤

Great video! It's usually clearest if the opponent in the model game is far lower rated. For example, I found Magnus vs. a 2450 playing Scandinavian, which was crystal clear to me.

You take the expression "criminally underrated" to a whole new level.

I've been using anchor games for a while. For example, I learned how to play against the Caro-Kann using the game Gata Kamsky - Yasser Seirawan, US Championship 2012. Kamsky played a beautiful sacrificial attack culminating in this gorgeous 23.Rd7 move. I even beat a player 400 points higher rated than me in an OTB blitz game in that exact line.

I didn't even know I needed a video on this topic until it showed up in my feed.

Very specific video suggestion here! Could you do a video on how to handle the f4‐e5 tension (and it's specular e4‐f5)? I realized that I don't have a very good understanding of these situations, which is a shame if the sicilian is your favorite opening (with either color)

Amazing video as always! Do you think that the year that anchor game was played in matters? I often hear that it is better to analyse older games (as shown by your other series) as they tend to show the ideas lurking behind opening more clearly, so would it be beneficial to also sort by the year (at least for a beginner/amateur level players as we don't need cutting edge theory anyway)?

Amazing video thanks! Does the time control matter? i.e. if you find a game between two top grandmasters but they were playing blitz, should that impact your choice?

I like using both the masters and the online database with the online mostly for variations that a GM would never venture. My favorite is when one of your games can be used an anchor game but it has to be something less well known to work

It is unfathomable that I have never ever asked you this question before ( or maybe I have recently but forgot). You specialize in Nimzo and know more than your fair share when it comes to the KID but how come we have never seen you Tango???

Was looking at Caruana vs Akobian 2017 as my anchor then thought I'd ask before it slipped my mind.

The accidental highlighting in the bottom left corner literally killed my OCD throughout the video

Like or Dislike: Like. How are anchor games superior to analyzing #Stockfish moves?
