Beyoncé & Jay-Z sent the lawyers after Piers Morgan after aired his interview with Jaguar Wright. Piers Morgan has now edited some of the interview and offered an apology to Jay-Z and Beyoncé. Jaguar Wright has been known to offered some interesting stories over the last couple of years and some of her stories make sense but at this point Jaguar is building a platform off of all these things that could make some of the stories hard to believe. To compare them to Diddy for what?

Social media meme culture and anti-intellectualism really has young people cooked. The baby oil jokes and even jokes about Haitians eating cats is a sign of how desensitized and emotionally immature the world has become. They did the same with Ike and Tina Turner jokes. This is what is bred from a culture of “it’s not that serious” and the rejection of critical thinking. Everything isn’t a joke.

A lot of the conversation surrounding Diddy is about the salacious gossip. Seeking out the explicit details, calling out random celebs for taking photos with him, and trying to figure out if he is queer is not seeking justice. It’s being messy. That’s why I’m glad Cassie did things the way that she did. Social media would not have handled that situation with care if she announced she would be suing prior to her doing so.

one thing I noticed over the years is that Jag will out other domestic assault survivors WITHOUT their permission, sometimes in a paternalistic or insulting way. People just always ate it up because she is a woman calling out violence....but I can't get past some of the ways she talks about people or situations. She (understandably) probably has quite a bit of trauma. People use her and Orlando Brown to get salacious commentary from them

I stopped listening to her years ago. As much as I want to be aware, it does not do my soul well to consume constant negativity. I just think it’s unfortunate that she has now built her entire name, image, and buzz off of airing her family’s and celebrities dirty laundry instead of her talent. Just like Diddy has to answer for his actions, someone who builds their life and income off of constantly speaking ill of others is going to have to answer for that too. I agree with King. This is such an interesting conversation for me following the resurgence of the Menendez brothers’ case in pop culture/social media. The parodies people made back in the 90’s were so twisted and mean-spirited. 😢

I heard a more recent interview from Lyle Menendez (the older one) a while ago, and it shook me up. He said that he would trade his entire defense for just a 30-second video of his father violating him just so people could understand the violence and gravity of the subject matter because people are so desensitized to the word when they can’t see it.

That statement really made me think about people from a different perspective. We need to think about our complicity as a culture in which this subject is considered entertainment.. 🤔

Jaguar Wright is not well, her family says she isn't. J & B went after Piers because if he did his due diligence as a "journalist, " he would have known to not platform her. It was irresponsible of him to platform her. Jaguar, and more specifically, her lawyer, can claim she has diminished capacity, that she's not fully responsible for what she says.
Jaguar says so much, we see clips of her saying things that make sense. But if you see the total interview of where a specific clip comes from, 95% of everything else she says is insane. That's a huge problem with short form media, many things can be taken out of context.
I don't doubt she's been through a lot when she was younger. The industry has done abhorrent things to young black women. And, while not accusing, I can see J/B not being innocent in the things that have gone on in the industry. But giving voice to people who are not mentally well takes some of the seriousness to the victims that are trying to make their voices heard. Because of her, the perpetrators have a stronger argument to say any accusations are "crazy."
I get annoyed seeing people taking advantage of her in interviews and I'm just sad for her at this point.

While I don’t feel like Jaguar is always correct i her statements, I don’t feel like it is a reach to claim that a person like Jay Z (i don’t know about Beyoncé) is/has been community with several sexual predators such as D*ddy, R Kelly and Weinstein and may have witnessed or participated in gruesome activity.

Even though she’s not Black, we saw how people reacted to the Johnny Depp DV case, how beliefs about Amber Heard spread so fast just because she was deemed “unlikable” by the public. People were literally making TikToks with courtroom footage and shipping Johnny Depp and his attorney. It’s disgusting. And Depp knew it would be a circus - he was the one that pushed to move it to a state where courtroom proceedings would be televised

For the sake of all of Diddy’s victims, I pray they won’t have to go through that. They’ve suffered enough and are being so strong to come forward. They are putting themselves in a position where potentially have to relive this on the stand, have to be torn apart by lawyers and judged by everyone. A lot of us are old enough to remember how traditional media treated Lorena Bobbit, Monica Lewinsky, and ANITA HILL. Now with Diddy, there’s renewed interest in the Menendez Brothers’ case. People were awful about it decades ago and it seems that not only has it not gotten better, people have found completely new ways to be awful because social media gives anyone a platform to amplify that awfulness

Spot on Justin. I think the sensationalizing of this whole situation is truly taking away from the victims. Jaguar says… a lot. How she made it on the piers Morgan show is beyond me. But something definitely needs to be said about these friendships in the industry. Publicly supporting him through the years, at least hearing the stories, but silent when he’s exposed. Speak up.
