yes agreed, it is the best organic sounding active pups out there IMO! I own 3 sets and I even prefer it over the Fishman Fluence. The mid range is just so punchy, also cuts thru well in a mix. back off the volume knob a tad(on any blackout) and boom, you also have the dynamics of a passive!!

I tried SD Blackouts once, but they were kind of underwhelming. Sounded extremely like my EMGs except they had a more flabby bottom end that i didn't really like. From what i could hear on this demo, the signature ones sound similarly flabby. That's not a bad thing though. It just depends on if you need that in your music or not. Great demo btw, as always! :)

Might want to take a look at Elysian and Arcane pickups. Here nothing but amazing things if you go passive route.

I like these more than the Loomis set. It's a great balance of darkness and crisp bite, and not as trebly as the Loomis set. These EMTYs sound the way I wish EMGs would sound. No sterility. Very well designed.

I'm assuming these pups came with the modular preamp?

If so, have you considered slamming the black winters inwith the preamp and seeing what filth spews forth?

I've been thinking of doing it myself, they're amazing pups, but I think the addition of the modular preamp would make them absolutely savage.

I have these on my Jackson USA, ( the mick Thompson signature )and I notice they pick up ALOT… of noise. I don’t drop them into the body because I then lose the “ chuga chuga “ idk maybe it’s my amps, I LOVE THEIR SOUND, just can’t stand all the noise it picks up, even when I slow down and correct it, I pick up SOME SORT OF NOISE, I could run to go pee, leave the guitar and amp plugged in, and it picks up on my water trickle noise and puts that shit on a loud speaker lol. I’m just kidding. But still! Idk man. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
