Her voice is pure and no auto tune. It's just incredible.

Fil, I've watched a number of your critiques and I'd just like to say how refreshing it is to see someone building people up instead of tearing them down. I very much enjoy watching you enjoy these performances and highlighting what's great about them. Thank you for what you are doing in these posts. Keep it up!

I’m 72 and I was lucky enough to make the trip, yes I did say trip in more ways than one, to Woodstock in 69. One one the best experiences of my then young life.

I love that “White Rabbit” is wholly and completely Grace’s song through and through. She wrote it when she was in The Great Society and brought it with her to JA. She is and always will be the undisputed queen of psychedelic rock!

I met Gracie Slick one of the many times they played Detroit and she was wonderful. Humble and kind, she thanked us for being fans...

I love how Grace sings behind the beat. It has an otherworldly quality. ..and she looks so beautiful.

a few other things worth noting about this song from a longtime fan....

Grace is singing behind the beat in this performance throughout the song, especially in the beginning. it's as though the lyrics are melting and dripping over the music and in between the notes. it adds to the delirium of the song so effectively

Grace has stated that when she wrote the song before she joined the Airplane, she was listening to Miles Davis' Sketches of Spain LP constantly, hence the Spanish-y flair to the music

A short song with simple chords, yet easily one of the most powerful rock songs ever recorded. Magic, absolute magic. Great analysis as always.

In Short, Grace and The Airplane Nailed It. I’ve always felt the song was as long as it needed to be. The song tells a story to its conclusion. There’s no explanation, no embellishment, no circling back. It’s succinct and to the point. In a word: Genius. It’s not weird Phil, it’s just the 60s. They crafted a a mesmerizing, mystical and alluring song.

Grace Slick said "White Rabbit" was the combination of Alice in Wonderland with Maurice Ravel's "Bolero" (as heard in the drum beat at the start).

Grace Slick: talented and crazy in a beautiful package. She would even make Jim Morrison nervous about accepting a drink from her.

Iconic sixties band with the most iconic psychedelic female singer. The Airplane was the sixties for many. I see Grace Slick as the single most outspoken woman in the history of rock music.

Grace has a really powerful stage presence during this entire performance. This combined with such a unique and pointed melody create a truly impressive performance among popular music history.

I saw Grace interviewed and she indeed did write this song. She said that back then the " grown ups " kept telling her about drugs as they had a Scotch in their hand " She grew up hating liars and decided to write this. She said the grown ups wanted us to always listen Alice In Wonderland and The Wizard Of Oz.

Aside from liking the song and loving to watch and listen to Grace singing it, it's her amazing phrasing of the lyrics that is so captivating. You can tell she is really living in the moment.
