When the 2022 McLaren Artura finally arrives Down Under around September – almost a year later than planned – it will pack a ground-breaking twin-turbo V6 plug-in hybrid powertrain with enough to performance to worry the Ferrari 296 GTB.

It won’t be cheap at more than $456,000 plus on-road costs and options, but McLaren’s all-new 570S replacement will bring 500kW of power and 0-100km/h acceleration in three seconds, plus all the tech you’d expect from a modern supercar, Toyota Prius-like fuel consumption and a 30km EV range.

Is the McLaren Artura the new supercar benchmark? Join John Mahoney to find out.

Maybe mention the fact that the Ferrari is over 100k more expensive. You also mentioned the weight. Its easily the lightest between the Ferrari an Maserati that have the same layout. Lazy journalism

This is NOT a competitor for the Ferrari 296! In fact, it's almost the exact same price as the actual "entry-level" Ferrari: the Portofino M. That's the comparison you should be making.
