Mangosteen - how to pick it out and how to eat it too!

Показать описание
Mangosteen itself has a thick, purple rind surrounding a moist, snow-white and sweet interior that is divided into segments. Native to Southeast Asia, mangosteen is not only prized for its delicate flavor but also for its long history in traditional medicine.

What do Mangosteen taste like?

The taste of mangosteen is often described as sweet and tangy, with a depth that combines flavors reminiscent of peach, vanilla, and a hint of citrus. The texture is soft and juicy, similar to that of a ripe peach. The unique taste of mangosteen makes it a favorite among exotic fruit lovers.

And sadly.. I don't love mangosteen, but our oldest kiddo loves it!

I just bought 2 of them from my local fruit place. Thanks for the tip on how to open it - the skin is really hard & I cut my finger trying to open it 😮 I did enjoy the fruit very much, but perhaps in future will look for peeled.

I love them. I have a photo I took about 50 years ago at a market in Kandy Sri Lanka. I can't figure out how to upload my photo.
