One piece of good advice if you are coming to visit, fly into Shannon Airport and you will be ideally located for travelling. Lots of people fly into Dublin and realise they have made a mistake with crazy high hotel prices and miles away from these and other gems, but do visit it's a beautiful part of the world ☘️🇮🇪☘️

I've been to a fare share of countries over the years but Ireland remains my favorite. I've enjoyed all the other countries but there is a certain magic about this country that separates it from the others. One beautiful locale after the next with a great vibe to go along with the cheery nature of the people. Once again, I've met fine people in all countries but no one is more welcoming to a stranger than the Irish.

I've been to Doolin, Kenmare, and Kinsale. I especially loved Kenmare and the stone circle. I was also impressed with the Derreenataggart stone circle on the Beara Peninsula. Ptooey on Stonehenge.

I sent this link to a friend in California. As it happens, I live in the south of France. It would be lovely if she would fly over and meet me in one of these villages then on to a few more before returning to France with me on her next visit. We enjoy Barcelona but it is time to try somewhere else... We both like walking, art, writing, live music, and poetry. Thank you for this enticing podcast.

I love Dublin. I lived there all of the 70’s. I travelled extensively from Dublin, usually hitchhiking. Those days are gone but it was a wonderful way to meet Irish people. Everyone who picked me up insisted on taking me for a cup of tea or a pint. It was truly magical.

Thank you for this video. My grandmother was from Kenmare. I hope to go there some day. I would love to visit the church that she used to go to.

I've stayed in Kenmare (which is beautiful village) but I think this video has opted for better known villages. I would say Castletownshend in West Cork should be on the list. The village itself is beautiful (with the castle, where you can stay, at the bottom of the village) but the scenery is outstanding. There are coves with beaches plus it is pretty much surrounded by the sea.

Try Broughshane in County Antrim. Has won loads of awards as the best kept traditional village in the UK/Ireland. Slemish mountain which has close associations with Saint Patrick is located nearby.

Other small towns in Ireland I've been to that I highly recommend include: Dingle, County Kerry; Clonmel, County Tipperary; Millstreet, County Cork; and Westport, County Mayo.

There is a local pub in Kinsale that local musicians get together once a week for a music jam session- worth checking out
