Pawn shops are scams in general. It's only for desperate folks that need that extra buck... you go there with a $1000 laptop and they give you $100 saying the value is low.. but then they try to resell it for $800

The actual store looks nothing like the studio where they film the show. Even the shoppers in the background are extras added to make it seem legit.

Edit: many of the 'experts' often own the rare items with an actor staging ownership.
