I'm totally the same. If its not attached to me, my sketchbook is in my bag, waiting for me to pick it up. I take that thing everywhere.

There is actually a quote by Chuck Jones, a cartoonist, similar to what you said. "Every artist has thousands of bad drawings in them and the only way to get rid of them is to draw them out." I think that's the most inspirational art quote I've ever heard.

Hahaha I totally carry my sketchbook everywhere. And I also have this problem with them falling apart but I never thought about covering them. The one I have now doesn't have a very sturdy cover so I might try what you did by covering it. Since the pages also fall out I've been using the glue I use for book binding to reinforce those pages (maybe you could give that a go to keep them in? Wood glue is good too). Love your sketchbook! Awesome work! (Sorry this is so long)

I really really like these drawings.
Since you said you did not like your sketchbooks that much in the beginning, maybe it´s less the drawings but the composition? Almost none of the pages is focused on one comeplete sketch, but only figure sketches and if at some point there are full drawings, there is always a lot of white on the same page. Maybe if you fill the gaps with more background or something surrounding the figure sketches, perhaps you might enjoy your sketchbooks a little bit more?

don't get down on yourself about the quality of your work in you sketchbook! Its your own place to learn, grow and enjoy yourself! Plus, with those artists who have "amazing sketchbooks", I guarantee that they have loads of other sketchbooks that are super messy and don't look so polished as the ones they show online. Don't give up! A sketchbook is where you can be yourself, and you don't need to please others. Thanks for this video!
