Iptables is a firewall tool in linux system that provides an interface with the packet filtering framework of Linux Kernel known as "Netfilter". In very simple terms, it is a powerful tool to manage network packets coming to and going out of your system.

This stuff has been giving me fits. Trying to get my home brew VPN tunnel to pass the packets I want onto my home subnets. The generic off the shelf VPN solutions have not been working for what I needed them to do. Figured out my feeble attempts at quick and dirty routing was not up to snuff and I needed to understand "iptables" tool. Was getting my ass handed to me by this tool. Your video made the point of understand the concept of the tool (the hammer) before jumping to swinging the tool (the hammer) method. BINGO!!
