Agreed about the oil change 3000 miles sounds excessive.
Usually modern cars tell you when the next oil change is due, if you do it youself than after 5000-7000 miles is a good number to do it.

OEM parts far exceed the quality of aftermarket. Most after market parts are junk and I highly encourage diy’ers to check the dealership prices before purchasing after market. A lot of the times dealership price are not far from aftermarket and you’ll get the correct part and much higher quality from a dealership parts department.

Modern engines may not need long warm up times but I sure do! So start that car and turn on that heat/defrost!!
