WHITE DOVE VS ALABASTER | Best Light Neutral Paint Colors

We have a colour clash of epic proportions here! Alabaster by Sherwin Williams and White Dove by Benjamin Moore are both very light, warm greige colors that can be used both on walls on trim. They have their differences, and personally, I have my preference. Which one do you prefer?

White Dove on my kitchen cabinets and all trim in my small home. You wouldn't think (as an everyday person) that "white" could make such a difference, but it does. It also works with my rooms' wall colors, ranging from very light greige to blues to very dark, warm grays. I'm older and those colors are relaxing and comforting in my (relatively) small space.

Great! Now I know I might use Alabaster for hallway and stair wall areas. I love these color face offs!

We painted all our ceilings in our house with alabaster. It’s a beautiful white. And the warmth works amazing with our walnut stained floors and mid century modern walnut furniture

My darker ranch home seems to prefer White Dove over alabaster in my samples. It just feels a little bit brighter and warmer while alabaster seems more earthy. I think lighting and your fixtures will dictate the winner of this battle for your own home though!

I am learning that its best to IDEALLY use the same color on trim and cabinets... what wall color would you suggest for contrast in white or grey? Maybe a lightened edgecomb or maybe creamy? Or? THANK YOU. You are Awesome

Would white dove on trim and doors, and the alabaster on walls? Look good?

I just repainted the inside of my condo which has north facing windows. I used White Dove in the entire space except for the bathroom where I used White Wisp to work with the black and white granite and faux marble tiles. Turned out great and feels like a much brighter more relaxed space. I looked at Alabaster but I liked White Dove better.

I painted my loft walls White Dove and I’m not in love. It looks too plain white for my taste. I’m missing some warmth. Now I have Alabaster paint swatches and I’m liking that more since it has more depth and seems warmer. 🤔

My north-facing living room seems to bring out the worst in all paint colors. Right now it's alabaster- and it looks sallow and weirdly green, like a pale person with a stomach flu. Maybe I'll try white dove next, though from the swatch I'm a bit concerned about it going peach. (for more context, we've used balboa mist before and it was straight up LILAC.) thanks for the vid!

SW Popular Gray. In kitchen/ family room through first and second floor halls. Also love it in walk in closets

Ben Moore has always been my favorite paint but White Dove was a bad choice for my beach house in Florida. Unfortunately people raved about it so much that I thought it would be a good color throughout, but now my walls look like chalk and lack the depth I was hoping to achieve. People should take caution here. White Dove is really, REALLY white, so if you are seeking a beautiful contrast between your walls and trim, there are other aesthetically pleasing white paints that will do the job.

Can you do a comparison between BM Navajo White vs SW Casa Blanca. I am painting the kitchen cabinets in a north facing room so greyish light and not much of it. Or a recommendation. I do not want bright white but a more creamy colour. Thank you

A color like alabaster or white dove can turn a little yellow over time due to color aging and this can apply to any white that contains yellow in its ingredients? As always, thanks for all your videos that are very helpful.

I'm looking for a good white for all the trim in my house. My walls are Accessible Beige. Will Alabaster work with this color?

If I am looking for a color a little whiter than white dove but not stark white what would be a good choice for the exterior of a building that gets a lot of sun or would you stick with white dove?

White Dove... Alabaster has more yellow undertones and White Dove is more neutral, neither yellow or grey in my experience.

We were considering white dove, but we plan on painting our fireplace brick in a bright white (using a Behr masonry paint) - do you think that would work? If not, what neutral to warm off white wall paint would look good with a bright white fireplace? And how about the trim? Our floors are light natural hardwood. Thanks so much!!
