Easiest way to take off is holding the elevators up by holding the left stick in down position, this keeps the tail wheel on the ground so the rudder/tiller gives you more control on the ground. Extend the flaps to give you more lift and reduce takeoff speed, gradually increase the throttle while keeping the plane straight using right rudder control until airspeed is high enough to lift off.

Fun fact: the spitfire prototype was based on a racing super marine floatplane that was really successful in the 30s.

There should be a video with the spitfire vs. the me262, I bet it would be some dangerous dogfights.

It's awesome to see you cover this mod, especially after the video that talked about the D-Series with the radial plane engine heh heh! Though this plane mod is a work in progress, what it brings to the table so far is wonderful 👍

ETA - spitfire plane is rad as hell dude. Really cool mod 🤙

Having seen them at air shows, the take off is right. The engine has lots of torque and makes it pull to the left. So right rudder is needed to run straight.

How a car physics game is somehow a much better PLANE crash simulator than Microsoft's FS 2020.

You might enjoy the Mtn. Goat airplane, although it might not make for good video content.
It's a low-and-slow bird that can take off and land nearly anywhere. A secondary mod gives it water floats too.
A bit unrefined. (I get the feeling incomplete?) The engine and tires are untextured, and the hardpoints on the wings don't do anything yet.
IMHO the fuel tank's a bit small as well, but understandable for what it is.

Your landing difficulty is from your speed. Irl Spitfires Glideslope (Runway approach) is, if I recall correctly, 130-135mph with Landing (Moment Wheels Touch) speed at around 110-120mph. Give or take on both.

I encourage correction from my fellow historians and sim players, or irl pilots.

I think they need to tweak the suspension on the landing gear. You can see it wobbling back and forth while sitting still, so I think that's what's causing the instability during takeoff.

That first landing attempt was looking really good; until it bounced. That was an issue with the actual Spitfire I believe! By the way, you're correct. Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. It's a really great landing if you can use the plane again! For strafing, you need to start higher up, then dive towards the targets, open fire then pull up to run the shots along the line of targets.

The modelling on this look pretty good. It nicely resembles a Spitfire. The textures need a lot of work. The weathering is too heavy handed and applied in the wrong places (leading edges mostly is where that occurs). Also, some of the textures are crooked. But like you said, it's early and so far so good! It does fly remarkably well.
