Office-based Buprenorphine Treatment for OUD

NIDA's Clinical Trail's Initiative (CTN) video provides an overview of Buprenorphine, a semi-synthetic opioid, used in the treatment of adults with opioid use disorder. The video highlights the opioid epidemic in the USA, the potential benefits and risks of the prescription of opioids for pain management including the risk of the development of opioid use disorder.

Of the three approved medications for MAT, the video focuses on sublingual buprenorphine. The video provides a summary of buprenorphine formulations and actions, how to start a patient on buprenorphine as well as potential side effects including the risk of relapse and overdose when it is tapered.

This drug saved my life. Under a proper prescription from a doctor and outside therapy or groups such as NA it works!
The problem is it is hard to get legally. If more available we could put a big dent in drug addiction. Drug addicts are not happy and just need a safe and CONSISTENT alternative. I'm hearing that it is hard to find doctors who can prescribe it. I got lucky and found an attentive doctor. This medication should be so much more available.

If you just take your Bup properly and dont use you will settle down to normality after 5 days(yes 5 days), thats how long they take to fully stop withdrawals, they dont seem to work well at first but have faith, they DO eventually work brilliantly. as good as methadone i would say from experience but induction is very tough as you rattle at first, horrible but well worth it in long run and can save your life,

pain control after surgery I maintain the level of their might be ten, in hospital try get the pain down two. Such as PCA pump with Morphine or Demerol with a lockout I'm four hour. then the nurse Oxycodone, Vicodin, which is every four to six hours. Fentanyl lower dose was 25 than be remove.

The real problem is the government aren't doctors and shouldn't cast laws that are in direct contradiction to Actual Doctor s that go to school for years then residents verses DEA who shows up looking for job!

Buprenorphine threw me into a craving-obsessed depression like I never experienced before. Completely useless. Life was so much better on smack.
