The addition of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners into WestJet's fleet has been well publicized and heralds a new era for the airline. But it's not their first time flying a widebody aircraft!

Today, I fly on WestJet's "other" widebody, the Boeing 767-300ER, on this domestic transcontinental flight from Calgary to Toronto, in Economy Class. See what I thought of it in this video!

Hi everyone, a quick correction:

I said that C-FOGT first flew with Qantas and Ansett Australia before being delivered to WestJet in 2016. No idea where Ansett came from, but it's only ever flown with Qantas and Australian Airlines. My bad!

The four 767 jets purchased by Westjet are all -338ER variants and none of these ever flew with Ansett Australia. Westjet also added the winglets in addition to the new internal fit out.

You should do a story about the 767 winglets featured so prominently in your video. I've flown plenty of 767's in the 80's and 90's, and none of them had that winglet. It was an aftermarket addition later.

This reminds me so much of PWA in the 80's. They did EXACTLY the same thing at that time. With the exception that they're s were new. PWA at that time was flying to Hawaii with 707's.They then acquired CP and Wardair and became CAI.

Before I continue, please let me know if my longer than the norm comments are a nuisance. It is just that whenever I enjoy the work of others, I like to comment as an indication that I paid attention, but mostly to show my earnest appreciation. So, if they are bothersome, I’ll do my best to throttle my enthusiasm.

The 767 is my favorite wide-body aircraft, and I am saddened that it is now out of production. It was one of those aircraft that was just the right size, so that it did not take forever for passengers to load and disembark. It was also the aircraft I flew the most back in my days of business travel, and I always had a great flight on them.

Thank-you again for your post, and I really thought you did a great job of editing in the WIFI view of WestJet’s on flight entertainment system. Please continue with your great work, and I look forward to viewing your next post

Menzies Aviation ground handles Westjet in Toronto. Subcontracted company's like them are usually stretched thin, so that's probably why it took so long to get your bag.
