That "copyrighted stack of blocks" adds SO much tension. With a pair of dice, every role comes with a chance of failing. With the "copyrighted stack of blocks, " it is a matter of WHEN you fail, as every successful action makes things harder and HARDER.

Wil's a pretty great GM. I like how he brings people in who aren't participating as much and includes them. As a shy dude I appreciate that.

Every time I play a game and think "that voice is so familiar", it's almost always Laura Bailey.

This is the perfect game for Will he doesn't have to roll any dice.

Emily "I'm uncomfortable with my party animal roommate and wanted to get away from that"
Alice "I don't have much of a social life and I just read a lot"
Maddox "those two girls looked like they were up for partying"

"filling a backpack with spam and weeping" is a pretty go-to strategy when faced with adversity

Dread is the best RPG I've ever played, period, full stop.  I love the back-and-forth between GM and players during character generation _(the GM can ask open-ended questions, OR can ask questions like, "why did you embezzle half a million dollars from your employer last month?")_.  I love how accessible the game is for new players.  I love how elegantly and perfectly the Tower of Dread captures that steady crescendo of tension.

You'll never see players literally _afraid_ to take actions, like you will when playing Dread. I mean, look at the players in this video: From the very first moment, they were feeling the fear... and it just mounts, steadily, as that tower grows more and more precarious. _This is how horror should be played._

"How does Alice feel right now?"

This is what I subbed for. This kind of Table Top. New games I've never seen, with a cast that isn't forcing humor. They were into the game. This rocked.

One thing that he failed to mention is that in Dread the number of pulls you make can be adjusted depending on your character. Like for instance a track star running away from a terrifying hell-hound might only have to pull 1 block to get away but the non-athletic fat man might have to pull 2 or 3 times to get away. This makes sure that your specialties actually help or hinder you in the game.

"It might be different than the wooden blocks you're used to." Me: *Sees that they inexpertly rubbed the logo off the blocks*

The use of a Jenga tower is much funnier after watching Critical Role

Man Will, your never gonna let your wife forget that moment in Ticket to Ride.

I thought that the table they used was tilted slightly towards the cameras, so as to get a better shot on the cameras. Seems to me that would be quite detrimental for a game involving Jen...uh.. Non-trademarked wooden blocks.

Oh no!  A two parter?!  I don't want to have to wait two weeks to see the conclusion!

We once played a version of this where we had 4 towers, one for each PC. You could draw blocks from your own tower or other player's towers, blocks had to be placed on the tower they were taken from.
We did this to make the game last multiple sessions more easily. As an extra bit of stress, if one tower fell and it knocked down another tower as it went down, multipple PCs could die or be maimed. Our GM also had pre made different lvls effects based on how much of a tower fell over.

When I ran this game, one of my players was convinced the charm on the guide’s neck was the source of the evil. In the middle of the nights he’d tell me in secret that he took it off. In the morning I told the whole party that the charm was gone, and they started freaking out, increasing the paranoia. When bad stuff started to happen again, the one who stole it suspected it was good, and put it back. When I told the party it was back they began to freak out again. The ending was a bit lacking but I was really happy for those moments.
