IMAX and Pathé Live in partnership with Mercury Studios and Queen Films announced today that, for the very first time, one of the world’s biggest bands will perform on cinema’s biggest screens with the global release of “QUEEN ROCK MONTREAL,” exclusively in IMAX® beginning January 18, 2024. This exhilarating live concert from 1981 is a window into Queen in their most unalloyed form, giving audiences a larger-than-life, front-row immersive experience. The film was digitally re-mastered for the first time into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience®, including 12-channel surround sound, crystal-clear images, and IMAX’s customized theatre geometry. Rock & roll royalty Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon take to the stage in a historic and exhilarating performance of their greatest hits including “We Will Rock You,” “Somebody To Love,” “Under Pressure,” Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Another One Bites the Dust,” “We Are The Champions,”
and additional songs from popular album The Game including “Dragon Attack,” “Play the Game,” and
more. Executive producers include Geoff Kempin and Alice Webb for Mercury Studios and Jim Beach and Matilda Beach for Queen Films.

“QUEEN ROCK MONTREAL” will be released in over 450 IMAX locations globally for four days beginning January 18. Participating territories include the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, South Africa, Australia, Brazil, and Mexico, to name a few. I always wanted to see queen and Freddie live, unfortunately i never had the privilege as I was born in the 2000s, i now have the chance to experience the same thrill, thank you to everybody who worked on this, its a priceless gift to the newer generations who never got to go to a queen concert, thank you so much

Saw them twice 1979 and 81 ! Never again would I see anything that enjoyable . Freddie was and always will be amazing! And the rest of the band excellent! I have been to many shows but Queen I will always remember stood out far ahead of any others. Their songs always stay fresh and amazing with a sound so unique .

Queen, i know you definetly won't see this, but I just wanna say thank you. I'm one of the biggest Queen fans out there, and I'm only 12. Their music has helped me through tough times at school for when I was getting bullied for being transgender(Female to Male), getting bullied for liking old rock bands(The Beatles, Queen, The Rolling Stones, Guns n Roses, Kiss), and just being bullied for being me in general. Wen I heard my first Queen song(Bohemian Rhapsody), I knew that this was a band I would love for the rest of my life. I knew that this band would instantly become my favorite band of all time. I knew this was the band for me. I have been wanting to see them in concert incredibly bad, but my mom just never has enough money to do so. I've also been really worried that when I do get the chance to meet them, they'll be dead, and I'll never be able to meet the people that have influenced me, and helped me the most. But, I should at least be greatful that I am a Queen fan in the first place. I'm keeping Freddie's legacy alive. All of us are keeping Freddie's legacy alive. Queen, once again I know you won't see this ever, but thank you so incredibly much for the amazing music you guys have created over the years. I love you all, and even beyond death, I'll love you, guaranteed❤❤❤❤

I was 15 when I went to this show with my friends. I remember the next day our throats were sore from singing & screaming so much. I saw it again last week in IMAX and it was fantastic.

Saw this at Belfast IMAX on release day. Brilliant restored sound and image from start to finish. Great to see (nearly) the whole set from The Game tour. You get to see the whole band dynamic. Freddie: just fabulous darling. Roger: holding it all together with backing vocals and manic percussion. John: just seems to be completely in the moment having his own private gig and loving it all. Brian: letting the Red Special do the talking. Don’t miss out. 🥁🥁👏 🥁🥁👏 🥁🥁👏

I saw Queen in July 1980 at the Los Angeles Forum when I was 15, and again in September 1982 at Irvine Meadows.
This same era show will be awesome to see with my 20 years old daughter - a Next Generation Queen fan.

I’ve had the pleasure to see Queen+Adam Lambert 4 times…I wish I had seen Queen with Freddie back in the 70’s & 80’s but raising 2 young children then didn’t happen then.
I have this film on DVD but seeing it on the IMAX screen will be SUPER!
