As a mexican i can tell you that i feel well represented with this film, they captured well our festivities, history, culture but above all the warm and kindness of its people. Here in Mexico the mother figure is very important as well as family, and those values and figures are essential key plot to tell the story right!! Congratulations to the creators and crew involved in this wonderful project.

the book of life didn't explain the mean of day of the dead... it is just a love story during this celebration.Coco explain the true meaning of this tradition..

The thing is that The Book of Life is highly influenced by Spanish culture, while Coco was focused on Mexican culture. And as a Latinx person myself music does play a huge roll in Latin/ Hispanic cultures and family is something that is also highly emphasized in them. So of course, this film would have those themes and that is because they are prevalent to Hispanic/Latino culture

I cant get over this, I am watching all the reviews I can and I am so happy that everybody likes coco, some loved it, some only said is really good, but at least no one said its bad and that is what is more importante, cause there is no way...even if you dont like the main story or if you think is kind of cliche...because the movie is so damn good and well done that there is no way...again, no way it can be bad or suck, bless everyone for supporting coco <3

This video came up in my recommended feed!
I agreed with you about the quick humor, you have to watch it again to pick it up!
The best part of it, as a Mexican immigrant, I love how authentic it was to my culture.
They didn't stereotype it at all. Thank you, Pixar.

Also, new subscriber here! Love your other videos!

The thing that I love of COCO is that the mexican culture it's getting what it deserves: being appreciated.

Hope the people out of Mexico listen to the spanish songs <3

Definitely agree about everything! Loved the pacing, the visuals, everything.
And as much as I love Frozen, that short could have been 10 minutes shorter.

I'll admit, I was wary about seeing it because I was concerned it'd be ripping off The Book of Life, but you just assuaged those concerns and I'll be seeing it asap. Thank you for making me really excited for this movie.

Just got home from seeing this movie, and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, Disney made us sit through a dreadful 20 minute "Frozen" sequel short ahead of the movie, wish I'd have known that, would have gladly come late.

Anyway, about Coco: it goes without saying the visuals are unreal. It takes the vivid colors that are ubiquitous in Mexico to a whole 'nother level. Nothing surprising about that with Pixar. To me the story is like an homage to both Wizard of Oz and Sound of Music, set in the Dia de los Muertos culture, which itself is an amazing and beautiful thing. I was worried that it would be a patronizing mix of cliches about Mexico, but it wasn't at all. Some of the plot twists are pure Disney corn pone, but those things are to be expected. Lovely script with a beautiful message about family, great music in places (could have been more, I thought), and overall really a touching love letter to Mexico.

Every gringo should see this movie, they would learn something about the wonderful people that live across our border. More bridges, fewer walls.
