You can't buy back time. Working 16 hours a day in your 40's or 50's is not worth the health risks to those officers.

I went to the same seminar. Bail reform is a major factor as well as the disrespect from the public. The governor and AG rather concentrate on Trump than the crime going on in New York.

Mayor Adams giving a NYPD contract favoring new recruits to aid retention doesn't necessary help those on the back end. NYPD, FDNY, NYDC & DSNY under the City Charter (their members are given salaries/benefits that are similar-within range, thus what 1 gets..the others will be close if not matching). These off-duty officers know what's coming down the pike as Mayor Genius predicted 15% budget cuts due to migrants across all City Agencies. If NYPD is spared (optics) cutting Mental Health (Creedmore etc) will have Officers in harder positions with repeated arrests on the E, F and elsewhere.

it would be interesting to find out how many Auxiliaries of the NYPD who have resigned due to the sentiment Auxiliaries are not cops just volunteers.. I'm sure if the NYPD ranks on low why would anyone want to join the Axillary force?

NYPD is one of the few jobs, that can let you retire after 20 years. I would do the same with any job
