Call me dumb but no one stated factually that this poor man died of a drug over dose, I think this interview is disgusting and this guy is news jacking they should be ashamed especially if Hawkins was a patient! disgraceful. God rest Taylos soul and I hope his kids never see this crap!

Opiate addiction doesn’t just take the young and talented. Those are just the ones you hear about. It routinely takes the young (and inexperienced) and the homeless, but they get no news coverage.

Speculation without facts. Let the man rest in peace.

At this point Taylor had chest pains and past away very quickly. That would point to a heart attack. That's different than your heart stopping from an opioid overdose. First and most importantly.. You're unconscious already and wouldn't be able to vocalize having chest pains. And second..as of yet, no amphetamines' have been listed in his system. So for all we know, he could've just had a massive heart attack without drugs being a direct factor..

I dont know many people at 50yo who have done any sort of physical work, who don't take opioid's. Just because they were in his system, doesn't mean he was abusing them. And as for the THC, many people use that as a pain killer as well. In all my years working in the A&D treatment field, I've yet to hear of anyone dying from Marijuana use.
May he rest in eternal peace.

Neither one of these people know anything first hand about Taylor’s medical history.

No one even knows if he was abusing opioids or what killed him yet. This is so ignorant and obviously shameless click bait. Lots of people need and live on those same meds just fine. He could have simply just had a a bad ticker. Anxiety is also bad on the heart and he had anxiety disorder.

We don't know the actual cause yet. Regardless, I will remember him as an amazing drummer & human. I'm a drummer & that world can be a rough place. I worry for Dave. We have lost far too many. Don't judge lest ye be judged. RIP Taylor!

Do we even know the levels of opiates in his system?? Many people are suffering chronic pain and aren’t taking more than they are prescribed.

"The disease of addiction only takes wonderful talented intelligent people (primarily). that's why I like working with the Did this guy really say this? is this guy a professional? Celebrity culture is rotten to the core, out of touch, my god end this carnival now....

I suffer with chronic pain and am addicted to opioids. The problem I face with treatment is that they always want to treat the cause of the addiction. With chronic permanent pain from nerve damage it’s impossible to treat the cause so I just go around in circles. I need the pain killers to exist but when I try to get help from addiction centres they just send me back to the surgeons who tell me there is nothing they can do and bounce me straight back to the addiction centre. I just live now in a limbo state knowing that one day my organs will stop working and I will have a shorter life than I should have had. Unless I decide I can’t cope with the pain any more and deliberately take a weeks dose at once. It’s a living hell.

Those weren't the only pharmaceuticals in his system

Taylor Hawkins was a household name in my home. We, as a family, would travel to other states to see Foo shows. I’m a former opioid addict from a legitimate injury that caused 3 herniated disc’s from a CrossFit “exercise”. I will have 3 years opiate free on July 4th. It doesn’t leave you. Same as alcohol. When life gets shitty I want a Vicodin, not a drink. Do not judge this poor man. He has the means that I don’t. If I had the means I would be back on opioids in a minute.

How dare you people accuse Taylor of passing from opiate overdose! He had a serious incident 21 years ago. He was a kid. He had since then been living much healthier lifestyle. He just turned 50. He was a drummer. People have pains - shin splinters/spurs, arthritis, etc - the man's body was his instrument and in constant use - what was in his blood could easily be prescribed safe level medications for him from his doctor.

I hope the Hawkins family sues you for your false reporting and defamation. You disgust me.

Almost everyone in this country knows someone or has a family member who has overdosed. It's so sad, whether you're famous or not. The pressure of performing at such a high level is not talked about often enough. God Bless Taylor Hawkins. RIP.
