Hello if I holded my breath for 3 mins static should I take 9 minutes pause before another breath hold

I can do more than 3 minutes static but the thing is that contractions start before half that time, which is pretty annoying. To delay contractions one should do breath holds only until they come, right?

By trade I'm a power plant operator, so every year they give physicals, many moons ago one test I believe was for lung capacity, I only say this because she was quite amazed that I had 3 times the capacity as the normal human being, would that be a plus for a free diver.
