1) Wait AT LEAST 5 minutes after skincare to do your makeup. I wait more 15 mins and it helps lessen texture by letting the skincare products sink into skin
2) For long lasting makeup, use setting spray before foundation, before powdering and after powdering. A total of 3 times, it works wonders for me as an oily skinned gal
3) If anyone else struggles with straight lashes that do not want to curl try:
- Using a hairdryer on your curlers before curling your eyelashes (wait until it’s only slightly warm, don’t want to burn yourself!)
- Curling the ends of your lashes, not just the roots (I do roots, middle part then ends of lashes)
- Using waterproof mascara. I thought it was impossible for my lashes to stay curled until I accidentally tried waterproof mascara and I haven’t looked back since. If you’re worried about having to remove it afterwards, use a makeup removing oil or an oil based cleanser and work it into the lashes and wait a minute or 2 to let it do it’s work before washing it off

Anyone else do these tips ???

No matter what I do or what products I use I still end up with dry and cracky undereyes. I would love a full video of multiple tricks to fix it.

For under eye creasing (from a working MUA): before setting, take a pointed q tip and lightly drag the tiny tip of it in the lines to get product out and then set!

Honestly the biggest thing that changed the makeup game for me is colour corrector. I just do a little bit of peach under the eyes, and a bit of green on any red patches. It’s such a short, quick little step but makes my concealer over the top work SO much better

So I studied cosmetology a longggg time ago and obviously trends have changed. One eyebrow tip that I do remember and still your eyebrow pencil backwards, brushing against the hair. So starting from your outer corner, brush the pencil lightly against the hairs and then brush into place. This gives the effect of thicker hairs but also a more natural look, as the Color is deposited under and around each hair, rather than just sitting on top of the hairs. You will probably still need to apply a few hairs the more conventional way to fill in sparse areas and then brush into place. You can also use this technique with some of the less thick brow mascaras and get the same effect. it's a great technique for those days when you're not putting on a full face but still want some brow definition.
Great video as always Soph, thanks again 🥰

Here are some of my fav tips I learned over the years!
1. If you do eyes first, apply all primers at once (face, under eye, eyelid etc.) this will sink in and get tacky overtime.
2. Apply concealer to your under eyes and most unwanted blemishes LAST so as you blend other spots, the concealer gets a bit dry to ensure better coverage.
3. Use setting spray before your base, after your base (powder or none) and after the entire look is done.
4. Bronzer in place of contour usually gives off a better “no makeup” or minimal makeup look.
5. Contour the eye socket with the same bronzer on your face or similar to have your eyes look more lively.
6. Pay attention to the tones of your makeup to ensure overall balance. If you want cool but are neutral, reach for cool-neutral products (learning color theory helps the most with this tip)!
7. Use a clear balm or clear highlight to enhance shimmer highlight or wear alone for a natural glow.
8. Use a slightly darker lipliner or brown is better, to even out your lip shape and put color over it. Apply on top of lip color to reach wanted look.
9. Owning semi-clear colored glosses are key to transforming any lip look. Wearing a pink but seems to bright? Apply a green gloss to neutralize it (once again, color theory).
10. And lastly, use a normal mascara then a waterproof mascara on top to ensure curl stays. This takes trial and error as no lashes are the same but that’s alright.

All done! :)

With covering blemishes and spots, after skincare, i take a cream conceler and cover the spots i need. Leave it to dry almost completely, no blending, and THEN apply your foundation over the top with a beauty blender, starting from the outside of your face to the middle. I find the less makeup i have on my nose, the less likely to cake or crack.

I like to mix foundations/bb creams to get the texture and coverage needed. I am extremely pale, so I started mixing them to get a light enough shade, but I discovered how much better my complexion looked!

Something that always works for me is i kinda “set” my eyeliner by going over it with an eyeshadow in the same colour and idk if im crazy but i feel like that way my eyeliner lasts longer

Completely agree with the warm beauty blender technique. I’ve been doing that for a few years, and find there’s a huge difference in how my foundation goes on if my blender is warm vs cold. Always so disappointed if I’m doing makeup on the run and it’s gotten cold because I know it’s not going to work as well.

Best trick ever is to NEVER apply any sort of product directly to your face. For example apply foundation concealer cream bronzer to the back of the hand or a palette and then use a brush to apply to your face. You will use way less product and makeup will not look cakey anymore 🎉

for spots - dont apply concealer directly on it, apply it to the side because they already have texture and the concealer will add to it. also if you apply it to spots then you have all the germs from the spot on the dufour which will then spread to all the concealer.

Honestly, my favourite thing that I've started doing is mixing my foundation with strobe cream. It makes it more like a slightly more covered tinted moisturiser, makes my skin look less dull and stops it drying so quickly!

Alot of people don't use tiktok and aren't interested or have any intention of doing so so I'm glad you didn't just do it there.

I fully endorse letting concealer sit for a bit on spots, and also moisturizing them extra to reduce the makeup clinging to them!

Contour creams… warm them up on the back of your hand and load your brush! Stops all ‘muddy-ness’ and you can control the amount of product and build up intensity instead of putting on too much and struggling to blend out. Same for cream blush 😊

I was in a car accident recently and broke my dominant arm so I’ve been having a hard time applying makeup so I’m living for all these makeup videos right now!!

I’ve been watching your videos for years and absolutely love you! Something that I’ve been doing is putting my concealer, cream contour, blush and liquid highlight UNDER my foundation and then you just put a lighter layer of foundation or a skin tint on top and it blends so beautifully and doesn’t ever look patchy!

EYE PRIMER IS KEY under your eyes to prevent settling. Best tip I’ve ever tried. You should try it in your smile lines, too, and report back!

Put eyeshadow primer in your smile lines to help to stop them creasing. I use a NAC Paint Pot and it works well 👍
