Best Aluminium Hop-Up Upgrade shocks option for the Tamiya DT-02 and Tamiya DT-03? Well, Yes ... the Tamiya ones are by far the best quality and actually work! But can we fix the 3Racing Hop-Up Shocks ... so they actually feel like a Hop-Up???

Thank you for watching!

Yes, still fiddling around with these 3Racing Shocks! Last year we tested them stock - this winter I finally had some time to try to fix them and make them work! I'm actually quite pleased how they work now!

Even though they work now, I still do not recommend the 3racing shocks over the Tamiya ones. Yes, they are cheaper, but you need to source out and replace a lot of parts to make them work.

Well, if you can find some spring sets in the right diameter you actually only need to replace the o-rings, the springs and oil.

Compared to my set-up here, you can actually go a little bit softer if you want. Especially in the front. But it all depends on your own personal preferences, type of running and the type of surface.

Man, the black springs would be something I would run on one of my heavy crawlers, not a lightweight buggy! Glad you could get them to work well!

Hi there Mikael, just love watching your videos on setting up, so clear and so well demonstrated. Thank you. Those black springs looked tremendously hard. 😊😊best wishes to you all 😊

Hiya Mikael. I think we have discussed this before but it's annoying when you get shocks where the springs are way too firm for these light buggies. Great to see that you managed to get those Tamiya springs to make the 3Racing ones usable. Does your wife know how many hours you spend in your hobby room rolling RC cars over your hand? I hope not or she may worry! Best wishes matey 🙂

I would have thought they would have put in softer springs by now but they keep getting it wrong. Then with the hard springs super thin oil just makes things worse. The right spring and oil perfect.

This is how I set up my race buggies, in case you run over someone's hands on the track.

Very good, show us some good upgrades for the TT-02 B chassis, the dual ridge if possible. It’s inside chassis mounted motor makes it a good cheap 4wD competitor to more expensive models but it has hip up potential.Do you agree? Its also a beautiful buggy too when painted in its chrome intended look.I love this car, you should too, love your videos❤️👍🏻👍🏻🫡🫵🏻

Ahhh, that's better! Seems like 3Racing got their sums wrong when working out the spring tensions - or they didn't bother at all! Good to see that they can be made to work, but as you say, might as well go straight for the Tamiya shocks! Nicely presented as always my friend! Cheers!

Never understood why 3Racing and Yeah Racing ship their shocks with such rock hard springs...

Thanks for your response.I forgot to ask you or anyone if you had any advice for me.I bought a couple of grasshoppers and modified one, I fully ball raced it and settled for an old techno gold 540 motor and the 18 toothed pinion as suggested in the instruction manual. It’s very fast for a grasshopper but much slower in reverse, which I suppose isn’t a bad thing but I’ve done the same thing in the past and it didn’t happen on my earlier 90’s edition.I don’t want to run it incase it’s ruining the gearbox.Does anybody know why it’s doing this?is it a feature of the new style ESP or do you think there’s something wrong.I want to sort it because I’m going to give it to a young boy that lives near me, he’s seen me playing with other rc cars on my street and loves them but his family is poor so I want to give it to him with everything else he needs to start the hobby.Any advice would help, who knows, Lewis Hamilton started off racing rc cars.He could be the next champ, thanks🫡🫵🏻👍🏻
