I think we as a society need to quit being so terrified of aging and death. It's part of the total human experience and we should embrace our aging and what it brings: wisdom, experience, and the opportunity to slow down and interact with the world in a different way. We've become so obsessed with youth that we're almost afraid of the elderly and too often I've heard young people speaking in disgust about their elders. Life is meant to be lived in all it's facets, not simply obsessed about what is really just a 10 to 15 year period of the overall experience.

Considering we already need all the donated blood for patients who has lost their own blood in accidents and during surgery blood transfusions obviously aren't going to be used for such a treatment on a large scale. The rejuvenating components would have to be isolated, synthesized, and made into a medication that way.

Or maybe teenagers could fund their way through college by selling their blood to rich people. Thats also an option.

Unless someone along the line of communication is oversimplifying the process, you don't really need to take this through trial stages. People get transfusions all the time. IF it's simply a matter of blood going from one to another, which it sounds like it is from what I've heard here, than all that's needed for testing is to take the age of blood donors and recipients, which I'm pretty sure they already do, and see if there's a change afterwards. However, the fact that they're NOT doing that and they're being cautious means that this process is more complicated than a simple blood transfusion.

This could be a completely amazing revelation, not only allowing some older men and women to look and feel younger but also increasing the price of a young persons blood, so giving blood could end up paying a lot more than it used to and would be able to help people that needed it.

In one of Robert A. Heinlein's books, he wrote of a longevity treatment that pushed the human life expectancy out to 200+ years. The main part of the treatment was to replace/transfuse the blood of the patient. Score one more for Science Fiction!
