very cool to be able to give them much more information than "oh yeah that feels about right" on a piece of equipment and all the other things spot will do. spot walks so natural looking yet every step is perfectly synced. watching it walk up the stairs effortlessly is a trip in itself.

This clip shows next level housekeeping at that refinery. It's not typical of what I've seen in the chem processing industry.

*Me in my home desk chair, which is situated in a closet, watching a video targeted towards high-skill, high-level, high-performance fortune 100 companies worth billions of dollars, eating my microwaved leftover rice to fuel up before heading into my $16/hour job*

Ps: I love you Boston Dynamics, your robots are awesome

It’s amazing how far this company has come. I remember back when they were just figuring out how to make robots that could walk and run and get back up if you kicked them over. Now they’re mass producing and selling some of the most advanced robots to big name companies like Chevron that can use them for dangerous jobs so that people don’t have to be at risk all the time. Its amazing. I can’t wait to see how much farther they’ll go in the future

Yes, Spot is a very hard worker and I love seeing him in all his different jobs, but please tell me you let him dance every now and then! 💜 All work and no play makes Spot a dull boy, er... robot.

I love seeing more serious video of in real life applications of robots. Not that I dislike seeing robots dancing but...

Just awesome!! Getting more people out of harms way is always a good thing. Interested to know about how the intrinsic safety of spot was evaluated by Chevron.

Gotta love helping keep people safe, watching all the videos from The Chemical Safety Board gave me a lot of insight into the dangers of industrial processes.

🤔 So it's intrinsically safe and certified for use in hazardous atmospheres? Or is it only operated outside of class 1 div 1 or class 1 div 2 areas? Or does it add administrative burden of permitting and extra gas monitoring for field personnel?

It would be cool if they could partner with Walmart or some other stores to stock the shelves overnight.
