2016 Mercedes GLE 350 d (258hp) - DRIVE & SOUND (60fps)

Today I can present to you the full DRIVE & SOUND test with the all new 2015 / 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV as the 350 d AMG Line featuring 258 hp and 620 Nm of torque. If you followed us you know that we already tested the GLE Coupe as the range topping AMG S version, and this "mainstream" 350 d carries over all the good qualities of the AMG Coupe! It's very comfortable and quiet, the interior really has made two steps forward compared to the ML, and the handling really feels light and balanced....even compared to the GLE Coupe AMG. You probably also know that Mercedes recently replaced their 7G-Tronic by a 9G-Tronic that can also be found in the CLS- and E-class with similar engines. As I never drove a 9-speed transmission before I was really anxious to see how often is has to shift and how much rpms there will be at Autobahn speeds. The thing that you notice right away is that you don't really notice that much of the transmission;) The gear changes are very smooth and you really have to drive faster than 100 km/h to get it to change to 9th gear. For a strong pull through you of course have to downshift to 6 or even 5 on the Autobahn, but the transmission does that very instantly and keeps the engine on a very quiet level. 1:33 / 2:09 / 2:12 i have the same "problem" do you heard this metallic sound (tic tic...) why could it be? Mine has 58'000km and it do same metallic sound as your with 5'000km. And I have an other "problem" the temperature stays always more than 80°c I don't know why. Somebody can help me for these two "problems" please

Is this a European model?  The MBUSA website does not show a 350d, only a 300d.  The 300d has the old seven speed transmission.  In fact, none of the of the new US GLE's (350 or 400) of the old ML body have the new 7 speed.  Is the 9 speed tranny coming to the next GLE 400? (old ML body style).

I would recommend doing a 0-100 in sport mode next time and not in comfort mode. I can see that ur start-stop is still on so its not sport
